It was a cold night in late December and a young boy named Tom is walking home. The streets are quiter than usual and Tom felt very vunerable. Tom decided to take a shortcut he has been told not to take, walking briskly down a hidden lane. Tom walks down the lane for ten minutes until he noticed a dull abandoned house with giant gates. Tom felt a shiver down his spine and started getting anxious as he gets closer to the house.
As Tom passes the giant iron gates in front of the house he hears footsteps behind him. He turns round to see if there has anyone behind him. No one was there but the gates are wide open. He called out "who's there?" no one replied. His heart starts beating uncontrollably as he looks around for someone. He decides to run but slips on the pavement and hits his head. As he looks up he sees someone coming from inside the gates walking towards him. Tom tried to think of what to do but is too disorientated and can't think straight.
As Tom tried to get on his feet he felt something pull his collar he looks up and sees a man with a straw hat. The man started pulling Tom through the gates by his collar Tom tries to escape by digging his feet into the floor and pulling away from the man once Tom had passed through the open gates they slowly start to close. Tom quickly put his arms through the sleeves of his coat and slips out of the man’s grip. Tom charges towards the almost closed gates and decides to jump through the tiny gap but as he jumps the gates close and he hits the gates head first. Tom loses consciousness and gets pulled towards the house by the mysterious figure.
Tom wakes up, he sits up and sees he's in some sort of basement. He feels a sharp pain in his fore head he feels his head to find a large gash. Tom slightly confused with what is going on slowly gets on his feet. Tom is then hit by a strong smell of rotting flesh he looks around to see hundreds of bones scattered around the floor. Tom starting to panic and full of fear reaches into his pocket to get his phone but finds his pockets are empty. Tom notices some stairs he staggers up the stairs and tries opening the door. The door is unlocked but is jammed Tom gives it a large push. He hears a loud noise on the otherside of the door he is startled and loses his balance. Tom falls down the stairs and ends up hitting his head on the floor.
In agony tom tries to overcome the pain and get up, but is left making grueling noises on the floor. He looks up at the door which is being slowly opened. As the door slowly opened Tom made out a shadow in the doorway. Tom gathered all of his strength and courage and starts pulling himself across the floor towards the bottom of the stairs. Tom then used the banister to help him stand up and makes his way up the stairs. Halfway up the stairs Tom can hear heavy breathing from the top of the stairs. Tom starts to get distressed and stops to see if anything will happen or if whatever is up the top of the stairs goes away
The door slammed shut never to be opened again.
